3/12/2023 0 Comments A7rii flickr gallery![]() I shot as fast as I could with separate shutter presses for 30 seconds. (I just tried something similar with my A7ii, just to check whether I have the ability to do this with my current setup. go to imaging resource and look at there performance test and they say even when the buffer is full it can still record 1 image every 1.18 secs. I captured 41 shots, with the image review instant each time.) Or if anyone else would care to do this I would be very grateful. That way I can be 100% confident from a specific, targeted practical test that this will work for me. I regulary use this camera for stacking my extreme macros.Ĭould you do me a favour please Don? Would you fire off say 30 shots, raw only, at around 1 / sec to confirm this. ![]() dont know what planet everyone else is on. Image review is "INSTANT" as fast as my em12. Shooting raw only my a7r2 can shoot an image every 1sec for as long as you like with no clearing time at the end. ![]() I'll stick with the A7ii.Įveryone that has responded has no idea what they are talking about. 5 FPS, but, with compressed RAW full frame you could do about. So, unless you want to shoot crop images, you will eventually fill the buffer at. The only way to get below 2 seconds was in APS-C crop mode (19MP) with compressed RAW. To my surprise, X-fine JPG took over 7 seconds, and Fine JPG took over 6 seconds. AFAIK, it's the fastest card the A7R2 can take advantage of. Switching to compressed RAW only, took 2.7 seconds. I took one shot, single shooting mode, uncompressed RAW + JPG, and it took 4.5 seconds between shooting and writing LED turning off. I have to set the interval for at least 2 maybe 3 seconds or it will get messed up and not clear the buffer fast enough. I use mine for astrophotography timelapses. If I had to wait almost a second after each shot to get a review image I don't think the A7r ii would be practical for me, especially if that means I can't get control back during that one-ish second.ĬAF is not an issue btw as the lens I am using is manual focus only. However, at a my usual one shot every two seconds or so it stays at step 1, which is fine, and is what I have been experiencing with the A7ii. If I needed to work that fast I could live with not having some of the review images. With this sequence I can shoot around 8 shots in 10 seconds, I just don't get a review image for some of them. No review image, but if I half press the shutter I get control back straight away and can shoot again. Get control back straight away and can shoot again. (I wish there was was a "Hold" setting so it would stay on until I half pressed the shutter button like on my Panasonics.) If I work as fast as I can I get the following sequence. If you shoot a burst in CAF, clearing the buffer seems to take forever but it’s probably only a few seconds while the camera is locked up. EVF blackout is nearly 1s, so you need to reacquire focus, recentre the image and press the shutter button in the other 1s.
